Need Prayer From Our Pastors? Click Here
When Faith Falters “I do believe; help my unbelief.” (Mark 9:24) Two angels are identified in scripture with specific tasks to perform. The first, Michael, is described as a warrior angel. Each time we encounter him he is contending for spiritual righteousness and the defeat of evil. The second, Gabriel, is a messenger angel. He told of the birth of John the Baptist and of Jesus. In fact, he instructed the soon to be parents, the names they should give to each child upon their birth. We are reminded from Zechariah’s encounter with the angel and the news that he and his wife of advanced years were going to become parents, that a lack of faith does not change or alter God’s eternal plans. Today if you struggle with faith at times, know you have plenty of company. Remember, God does not always depend on our faith to bring about His plans. Faith is not a mandate but a blessing and a privilege. It pleases God when we express and live out our faith in Him. Did you realize faith is unique to God’s highest creation, man? Indeed, it is not afforded to any other aspect of His creation. It is only for mankind. Faith, if allowed to develop and grow can conquer fear and provide stability in the midst of chaos, calamity and insecurity. Perhaps a holiday prayer to begin developing could be, “Lord I do believe; help my unbelief.” Pastor Holmes
