“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
I have frequently quoted Luke 16:10, where Jesus says, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” I have been pondering that injunction to faithfulness, and have realized (in what my husband calls a “blinding flash of the obvious”) that my faithfulness to God is always preceded by His faithfulness to me. Without His faithfulness, mine could never happen. As a member of several teams working on various projects for God’s Kingdom, I have frequently found myself on the roller-coaster ride of trying to get things done with limited resources. As one of our teams wrapped up a major project, I was rejoicing that it was completed faithfully and well, at the same time humbly recognizing that we were only able to do that because of God’s faithfulness to us. Many times throughout the months we lacked the resources to continue, but God always provided. Money came from unexpected sources, and volunteers stepped forward just when we needed them – sometimes people we didn’t even know beforehand. The end result was that the project got completed and we made lots of new friends in the process. All due to God’s faithfulness. God is faithful. If we just get up every morning and follow Him around, He will help us to be also. God bless you! Nell
