Just Breathe: A pondering by Holly Woodbridge
Jesus calls: Breathe, just breathe Come and rest at my feet And be, just be Chaos calls but all you really need Is to just breathe (jonny diaz “breathe”) Jesus promises: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 God offers peace! The world, not so much. I need His peace today. How about you? As you take time from the tasks of your day to just spend time with your Father, receive His peace. His is the peace that passes all understanding. His is the peace that can be experienced even in the midst of a storm. A GUIDED PRAYER EXERCISE: Imagine yourself in a place of quietness and beauty. It can be anywhere you choose, real or imaginary, Indoors or outside, somewhere you feel safe and loved, Somewhere peaceful where you can meet with God. Breathe deeply and slowly, in through your nose then gently out through your mouth. Fill your whole self with breath. Remember it was our Creator who first breathed the breath of life into man. Feel the air fill your lungs. Continue to breathe deeply, slowly, in through your nose, then gently out through your mouth. Now as you breathe in say: ‘Your perfect love’, and as you breathe out say: ‘drives out all fear’. Breathe in and out and say the words together. And again. (inhale)Your perfect love …. (exhale)…. drives out all fear. Repeat as desired Last one: (inhale)Your perfect love …. (exhale)…. drives out all fear. The day is still before you, but His peace is with you, because HE is with you. Go in peace. A song to remind you to breathe throughout your day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnjeMwxFuBA
