Dear Church Family:AND THE PEOPLE OF GOD STAYED HOME
Read: Ephesians 4 Consider: And the people of God stayed home. And read the Word, and listened, and rested, and moved, and made art like their Creator. They played games together and laughed and danced together. They learned new ways of being and remembered old truths. Some meditated and prayed. Many learned to listen more deeply. Some took a long look at where life had brought them to. And the people of God began to think differently. And their hearts began to heal. And, in the absence of people living in mindless, ignorant, selfish ways, they began to hope. And even though separated by walls and streets and disease, a longing began. A growing longing for unity, for forgiveness for togetherness, for worship. And when the danger had passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and worship, ways of the Kingdom, ways of their KING that would heal their community as they had been healed. -Holly Woodbridge This has been freely and perhaps excessively paraphrased by Holly Woodbridge from a Positively Irish post recently passed around Facebook. Update From WWCN: We will now be sending the devotional out early in the mornings for those of you that usually look at their e-mails in the mornings. We will send a separate e-mail out at 2:00 PM with any updates from the church. So be sure to check your e-mails twice a day. We are continuing to look at new and innovative ways to help you stay connected with your Wanamaker Woods Church Family. If any of you have stories of how God has supplied your need, blessed you, or how you have ministered to those around you, please send them to the church's email and I will forward them on to Traci and Pastor Michael. We want to hear your God Stories! As we continue to live in these challenging days we still have the Hope that lies in knowing Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Continue to use every opportunity to share this Hope which can only be found in Jesus Christ with those who may not know Him! If you are experiencing a spiritual need, or just need someone to talk to, our pastoral staff is here to help. You can contact any of our pastoral staff or you can also call the church office at 273-2248. It is being answered 24/7.
