How do we find our place in the history of the church? We can look back to heroes of the faith such as the apostles, St. Thomas Aquinas, C.S. Lewis, and countless others. When we see these giants, it can be easy to feel insignificant. But look at what Jesus has to say in John 14:12 – 13: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” The truth is that you are not insignificant. You are the very image of God (Genesis 1:26), and you bear His name (Christian). You are not insignificant, you are a son or daughter of the Father (John 1:12)!
