My family just went on a trip to Louisiana for my nephew’s wedding. We drove, leaving on a Thursday and coming home the next Tuesday. We drove through Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana to get where we were going. Every time I make that drive, I am amazed at the beauty in nature that can be seen through a car’s window. As I was enjoying the scenery, an old hymn came into my head:
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the works thy hands have made// I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, thy power throughout the universe displayed// Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, how great Thou art, how great Thou art! Romans 1:18-20says this: “For God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth, since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, that is, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what he has made. As a result, people are without excuse.” I’m always in awe of the fact that the Creator of the universe, Master of all that is both seen and unseen wants to pursue a relationship with us! Who are we, that God should even bother caring about us, let alone love and pursue us, yet He does exactly that. God’s thumbprint and the proof of His love for us is all around us, we need only to open our eyes and see it! Pastor Jared
