What is the value of a picture? Think of a stock photo of someone, like the ones they put in picture frames at Walmart. What can that picture actually tell you about the person in it? Maybe their favorite color, food, book, or movie? In reality, a picture can’t tell you anything about that person that you don’t already know.

However, when God created humanity, He created the most effective picture ever. In Genesis 1:26, God decided to make more than just a picture, God created us to carry His image into the world. Similar to how a picture needs to develop, so does the image of God! 2 Cor 3:18 says: “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

You, as the ever-developing image of God have an ability that no picture can do: you can help those around you to know God in a new, deeper way!
