Dear Church Family:
A Word for Troubled Times Words are powerful communication tools. They have the power to affirm or convict, cause a smile or a frown, create peace or chaos and even to transmit hope or shame. The one word in our communication tool box which seems to transcend almost all others is Hope! The world sees hope as “a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.” (Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary) For those of us traveling the Highway of Holiness it is a deep settled confidence that God will keep His promises! Isaiah 43:2 says, When you pass through the water, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you; when you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. We can embrace a deep settled confidence that God will see us through difficult times. We can claim a deep settled confidence that God will keep His promises to never leave us nor forsake us. We can live in and through a deep settled confidence that God will not leave us to struggle through difficult days fruitlessly, but will come to us. Declare hope in your life today. Embrace hope as the answer to difficult times and yes live in hope of better days! Pastor Holmes
