“Do not be anxious then saying, what shall we eat? Or what shall we drink? Or with what shall we clothe ourselves?”
We live in an anxious world. Political and moral polarization, tangled race relations, Christianity under attack, the challenge of understanding new definitions of equality, Covid questions, financial uncertainty, health concern; there just seems to be no end to the list. Perhaps that is a core part of anxiousness – the list. We worry about things of which we have little or no control. An anxious spirit and its cousin worry has no destination. It goes no place, takes you no place, and always ends up in the same place. No answers, just unsettledness. Although it is easier said than done, yielding those things out of your control to the One who has absolute control is the answer. When we cannot, He can. It comes down to a matter of yielding and trust. Yield that which you cannot control and trust God for the resolution. Pastor Holmes
