Now it came about after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying, “Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel. Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses.
For 40 years they had lived beneath their privilege. For 40 years they had looked, hoped and dreamed about the other side. The land was theirs, after all, it had been promised to them. Suspended by a river of fear, indecision and disobedience, they lived in the desert of bad choices. There comes a day when God said, “It’s time to move in.” Fear, be gone! Indecision, be done! Disobedience, Stop! Under a new commander, God gave them their marching orders, and march they did! Maybe today, you are finding yourself in the desert of your bad choices. You do not have to stay in that dry, dusty desert. Move out and move on. Say to the fear that holds you in bondage, be gone! To the indecision that paralyzes you, enough! And if there any disobedience getting in the way of God’s best, turn from it! The other side of opportunity, discovery and new horizons awaits your first step! Pastor Holmes
